Oxytocin is used illegally to force higher milk production at the expense of animals.

Dummy calves made from straw and calfskins are used to stimulate milk let-down.

Carcasses are dumped in open areas creating environmental risks.

FROM THE FIELD:
What struck me most was how ordinary it all seemed. Wherever we went, we saw the same animals tethered in place, milked under the same harsh conditions, with waste handled in the same careless way. These were not isolated incidents or occasional lapses.
This was the routine – the system working exactly as it does every day.
